What’s all this about, then?
Exploring histories of art, science, and culture, with occasional personal essays.
Here you’ll find essays about a variety of topics with a focus on stories of humans throughout history.
I’m curious about people: what we’ve done, what we do, and why. Not the science, but the scientist. Not the art, but the artist.
Who am I, anyway?
I’m still figuring out the answer to that question, but here are some basic facts about me.
My name is Charlotte Fielding, and I’m a writer and a mother. I live in Aotearoa New Zealand with my 13 year old son and our little fluffy dog. I have a degree in cultural anthropology and I work full time in communications. I’m endlessly curious and love learning new things.
I’m also working on a novel and I write freelance articles for various NZ publications. (It’s a lot of words.) The rest of the time I’m probably listening to podcasts, swimming, crafting things, reading (I love literary fiction and cosy mysteries), spending time with friends, and watching too much TikTok.
My website is www.girlgotwords.com.
